JON Sprague scored a hat-trick as Worcester recorded a 5-2 victory at North Stafford.

Sprague was backed up by two Alex Kotlarzewski strikes in Worcester's first match in Coaching Solutions Midlands Division One since relegation last season.

Ewan Bell scored the only goal as the Seconds defeated Kings Heath 1-0.

The deadlock was broken when Bell converted James Brown's cross after good work by Gregor McLeod.

Despite their dominance Worcester failed to add to their lead before half time.

The second-half saw few chances and Worcester held on, helped by five saves from goalkeeper Chris Thomas.

Simon Tinley scored a second-half double as the Fourths won 5-1 at Bridgnorth.

Worcester dominated but failed to get the goal they deserved until Tom Padden scored his first league goal five minutes from the break.

Phil Jones added to the tally 30 seconds after the break with a reverse stick shot for a short corner.

That sparked a goal rampage with Mark Chambers' solo effort and Tinley's brace. Bridgnorth scored a late goal.

The Fifths started their season with a 2-0 defeat against Harborne Fourths.

The match remained level until the last 10 minutes when a mistake allowed the visitors to push the ball past the 'keeper via a home defender. The hosts pushed forward, allowing Harborne a second.

The Sixths won 4-1 at Warwick Fifths.

Two first-half short corner routines led to goals by Edwards, well positioned on the left hand post.

Fielding a number of new faces, Worcester led 2-0 at the interval.

An unlikely defensive slip early in the second-half let Warwick in, but two quick goals turned the game.

First, Edwards completed his hat-trick, again finishing a short corner routine on the left post, and then Tinashe delicately lobbed the ball over the sprawling 'keeper.

Worcester Badgers Pippins beat Badgers Potters 3-2.

The game flowed from end to end but it was the Pippins who took the lead with a nicely worked move finished by Aiden Symonds.

The lead was short-lived and the Potters were soon level through Josh White.

The Pippins restored their lead with another Symonds goal before half-time.

Oliver Betteridge made it 3-1 but the Potters scored again through White to ensure a tight finish.

Worcester Women's Firsts lost their first match of the National Division South season 2-0 at Bristol-based Firebrands.

Worcester welcomed back Elaine Shepperd after illness and gave debuts to new captain Rachel Creese, Hannah Gibbons and Charlotte Rob-erts.

The visitors started well, with both sides evenly matched until a spate of three yellow cards just before the break against Worcester upset the balance and they fell behind.

Worcester tried to rebuild in the second-half, showing hard work and determination but they were seen off with a breakaway goal.

A frustrating encounter for the Seconds saw them lose 5-0 at home to Tenbury Firsts.

Worcester dominated for long periods but despite numerous shots, including one from Becky Close hitting the post, conceded twice on the break.

The hosts ran out of steam in the second-half and despite good build-up play, Tenbury added three more goals.

Charley Mills scored twice but the Fourths still lost 3-2 at home to Bromsgrove Seconds.

In a hard-fought contest Worcester did enough to earn a draw but slack defending gave away two easy goals against an organised Bromsgrove side.

However, there were enc-ouraging performances from a number of young players, including Mills and player-of-the-match Hattie Lloyd.
