A VISIT to the South Pacific aboard the royal yacht Britannia was the subject of Colin Bowden's talk on September 21.
He told of a voyage leaving Portsmouth for Barbados, taking eight to 10 hours to pass through the Panama Canal, and onto the Galapagos Islands, Easter Island, Tahiti and Melanesia, until finally reaching Sydney Harbour.
He told of refuelling at sea, and wildlife on the islands visited, also showing slides of life on board.
