HAT-TRICKS in cricket are rare occurrences and even rarer is the taking of four wickets in four balls.
Add to that the fact that this tremendous feat happened in October and was achieved by a 14-year-old, then it really is a fabulous tale.
Steve Powell was the bowler to spin Badsey to a ten-run victory over Lapworth, who appeared to coasting to victory in pursuit of the home side's 171 all out.
However, Powell's inspired spell of 6-17 that included wickets with the final two balls of one over and two with the first two of the next, brought about an amazing collapse to end a long summer in stunning style.
The teenager's exploits bettered those of brother Nick who took 6-21 in the 2004 campaign and also the 6-20 website record of Emerson Paul from 2003.
