THE Arden SC fleet enjoyed a pair of stand-alone handicap races last Sunday that were sailed in beautiful conditions.
The first race saw three Enter-prises leading the fleet home and winning on handicap from the mixed handicap fleet in testing wind conditions.
The second race was sailed in an even more fickle wind that never died completely, enabling the racers to glide along in blissfully peaceful conditions.
At the end there was still the Enterprise of Niall Campbell and Jane Smee at the front of the fleet but second place went to the determined Heron of David Bryden with Stuart and Caroline Stephen taking third.
Overall results: 1 Niall Campbell & Jane Smee (Enterprise); 2 S & C Stephen (Enterprise); 3 David Bryden (Heron).
Now that Autumn is here, members are looking forward to some exciting action and will welcome any visiting sailors wishing to try their hand on this most extensive local water at Defford.
