TEN dinghies were out on the river last weekend taking part in two races to decide the destiny of the Evesham club's Anniversary Trophy.
Competition for these one-day events is always intense and Sunday was no exception.
The first race headed off ups-team under grey skies with a fickle breeze blowing from the west.
It was a time for concentration and Paul and Anne Baylis in an Enterprise showed everybody how it should be done and steadily pulled away.
Stuart Bonham threatened for a while but couldn't maintain the effort and the leaders' efforts were so polished that everybody was lapped except for the Lark of Simon and Adam Styles. Roger Middleton eventually came in to take third place.
The second race was a complete contrast, the grey skies had gone, the sun was shining and the breeze was blowing steadily.
Clive Edwards moved into the lead with Tony Jacks and Midd-leton just behind. The Baylis's were struggling to hold on and the Styles' Lark was scything through from the back after a bad start.
Edwards and Middleton both fell away leaving Jacks was now in the lead but the Lark was closing in and the Baylis's boat was struggling in third as the gun ended the race.
It wasn't all quite over yet with Paul and Anne claiming a first and third which gave them four points.
Simon and Adam had two seconds for the same number so the rulebook was sought and, the former having a first in one race, they were declared outright winners.
