AFRICA is coming to Alcester with two events to help raise money for a charity which helps people in Ghana.
An exhibition and charity concert are being put on for the Johnnie Greenish Memorial Eye Unit Fund, set up to build an eye clinic in Ghana.
The exhibition of African art and artefacts will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 28 and 29, at Alcester Town Hall from 10am-4pm.
Admission is £1 and visitors will have the chance to buy some of the work.
And on the evening of Friday, October 28, there will be a concert at the town hall featuring live African, jazz, blues, classical, and folk music.
Gloria Abney-Hastings, who set up the charity last year, said the last concert had been a big success.
"Local musicians play for free and local companies sponsor it as well - everyone does something to contribute," she said.
"Ghana has a lot of problems with cataracts - it is a simple operation and only costs £10 but the average person cannot afford that."
The concert starts at 7pm. For tickets, priced £12, including a glass of wine or fruit juice, call Gloria on 01789 766356 or Meg on 01789 766701.
