NOBODY should underestimate our FA Cup opponents on Saturday and that's why we must be at the top of our game.

Tonbridge Angels are a good team, there's no doubt about that. They are top of Ryman League Division One for a reason.

Some people think it's an ideal third qualifying round tie because it's at St George's Lane and we face another side lower down the non-league pyramid.

But Tonbridge have enjoyed a terrific start to the season. They are unbeaten in all competitions and are full of confidence.

I think they have a bit of money behind them. Several of their players have turned out at a higher level and the club is expected to do well this season.

They started off on the right note and beating Fisher Athletic in the last round of the FA Cup was impressive.

Tonbridge will fancy their chances at St George's Lane too.

But this match is about us and we must approach it in the same manner as we did against Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Obviously, this is a bigger step up, but we must be positive about getting past this round.

It would be ideal if we could pick up another clean-sheet.

We picked up a second successive no-goals-against at Lancaster and are looking much more solid at the back. We are getting an understanding with Des Lyttle, Justin Thompson and Chris Smith.

We've cut out the very silly mistakes and only once did Lancaster come close to hurting us, when Des slipped over to let them in.

Maybe it was a turning point for us because we've recently been punished for those. But Danny McDonnell pulled off a great save.

That's what Danny did for us time and again last season and we capitalised on that by winning games.

Unfortunately, we couldn't capitalise at Lancaster but, to be fair, we did work their goalkeeper and I thought we were the better team.

I still think there's a lot of things to improve on. We are not kidding ourselves, we can do a lot better than that.

We are missing a cutting edge and that applies to everybody, not just the strikers. I'm talking about when we are getting wide and the passing, the delivery and the awareness when we are getting in and around the penalty box.

That could be anybody from Rob Warner to Liam McDonald to Tom Warmer and to the defenders when they get in attacking positions. It's seeing that pass or having the composure to pick someone out.

Lancaster adopted a like-for-like system and it was frustrating because it was never the most entertaining of games.

I can't say I'm happy with a point. But after some of the results we've had this season, when we should have got something but haven't, a point is better than nothing.

While we are in this spell with four or five players injured, it is important we try to accumulate as many points as we can.

If we can back this up with two good results against Northwich Victoria and Nuneaton Borough, the point at Lancaster will be worth more.

I'm still unsure whether we will have any injured players back for that double-header against the league's top two sides. Nick Colley and Les Hines have the best chance of returning, but we must take it slowly.

The Nationwide North league table is still very tight from top to bottom.

From my perspective, we've just got to stay in a position where a run of results will take us into the top half of the table.
