PUPILS at Holly Hill Church School got their hearts pumping to promote International Walk to School Week.
The school, in New Street, Rubery, was joined by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Birmingham on Monday, after being chosen as the launch school for the event, which is part of a new travel plan initiative from Birmingham City Council's Travel Plan Team.
The children formed a giant heart shape in the playground and released red balloons into the air, before being treated to a "healthy heart bazaar".
Advice was also given to parents and children about the importance of a healthy heart.
Headteacher, Christine Parker sad: "We are always glad to participate in Walk to School events as they encourage our children to realise that walking can be fun as well as being healthy".
