RESIDENTS' complaints of trouble from youths in Crabbs Cross has led to a dispersal order being granted.
Redditch Council has approved the application for the Section 30 dispersal order, which started on Saturday and will run for six months.
It covers land at Crabbs Cross Lane and the surrounding area from Crabbs Cross Methodist Church to the junction with Littlewoods, the area encompassing Fearnings Cottages in Leacroft Road and St Peter's Close.
PC Waterhouse said: "We've had numerous complaints about large groups of youths gathering in the area and the disorder they're causing, particularly damaging property, noise, litter, under-age drinking and general nuisance outside the shops in Crabbs Cross Lane.
"This type of behaviour has made people living in the neighbourhood or visiting the shops feel intimidated and fearful and this order means we can protect them by moving on any groups of young people acting in an anti-social manner. We hope this will improve the quality of life for residents."
