A 12-YEAR-OLD boy has become the youngest player to hit a hole in one at a Worcestershire golf course.
Even more amazing is that Robert Copperthwaite only started playing the game when he became a member of The Vale Golf Club, near Pershore, a year ago.
His dad, Noel, said: "Robert was really thrilled about it.
"When we went into the club house afterwards he got a standing ovation.
"He's always had aspirations to become a good golfer.
"I have been playing for nearly 30 years and never hit a hole-in-one."
The club's membership manager, Jamie Carroll, said: "It was held over our nine hole Lenches course and Robert scored the hole in one on our 163 yard par three 4th hole. I don't know who was most excited, Robert or his dad."
Robert, of The Close, in Cleeve Prior, near Evesham, was one of about 40 golfers taking part in the fun-day.
