A BRIGHT spark from Worcester has won a prestigious award with the car manufacturer Audi.
Mark Gillett, of Geneva Close, Northwick, beat 55 other hopefuls to the title of Audi Apprentice of the Year.
The accolade follows three years of hard work and entitles him to a two-day trip to Germany, where he will be given a tour around the company's manufacturing plant.
Mark, who has been working at Listers Audi, in Bromyard Road throughout his apprenticeship, which saw him gain an NVQ level 3 and a BTEC national certificate, said: "I was elated.
"It came as a complete shock and I didn't know anything about it until the graduation day.
"I am now a fully-qualified technician and I can look forward to getting the five-star treatment in Germany in December."
