WARRIORS' head coach Anthony Eddy says his players must put Saturday's disappointing 22-7 loss to Northampton Saints behind them if they are to progress in the Powergen Cup.

A Worcester team missing key players like Chris Horsman and Ben Hinshelwood struggled ag-ainst a dynamic Saints side at Sixways.

The new format to the competition means that Worcester could still reach the quarter-finals if they get something from their games at Gwent Dragons and Leicester Tigers.

"The thing is with a loss like that you just move on," said Eddy. "Obviously we are disappointed with the performance and so are the boys.

"We will have a look at it but not linger on it. We'll move on and hope for better things next week against Leicester."

Warriors managed just one try, which came when Saints were reduced to 14 men.

Eddy said: "I don't think there are a lot of positives to take out of that game. We are disappointed with our performance, especially in front of a fantastic home crowd.

"After the disappointment of not performing well last week, to come back and perform even worse is not something we are happy with.

"The players understand that they have let themselves down. There are chins on chests and personally I don't think there is any point yelling at them.

"They are all grown adults and it is their job to play rugby so we've just got to get on with it."

Despite starting with an unfamiliar line-up that saw Tevita Taumoepeau and Mark Tucker make their full debuts, Eddy confirmed that the Powergen Cup is still important to the club.

"It's a high priority for us," he added. "We treat every game with a lot of importance.

"We've had had some good success in the Guinness Premiership and we wanted to continue that success on Saturday and next week against Leicester."

n Warriors will be looking to exact immediate revenge on Saints when the two sides meet in an 'A' team match tonight at Sixways (7.30).

Worcester have made a poor start to the season and are bottom of the table after only one win in four games.
