THE flood photograph (Letters, Monday, September 19) is most probably the June 2 flood of 1924.
This freakish flood (15ft 9" above summer level) wrecked the Three Counties Show on Pitchcroft. The flood had been preceded by a month of very heavy rain leaving the floodplain totally saturated. A similar picture appears in my book, Unseen Worcester, on page 79.
J. Wilson & Son (Letters, Wednesday September 21) was actually in Quay Street near to All Saints' Church. Browns Restaurant was formerly the premises of the Severn Iron Warehouse.
