FORMER pupils came from as far afield as New Zealand to the annual reunion of former students at The King's School, Worcester.
Known as Old Vigornians, for many, it was their first return visit in 60 years, and an opportunity to re-acquaint themselves with familiar faces and find out about new developments at the independent school. In the evening, 74 Old Vigorn-ians and their guests met in College Hall for dinner.
The Classes of 1965 and 1990 were joined by the Dinner of the Decade reunion group from the 1940s.
The man behind this successful reunion was Peter Prestage who was at King's from 1941 to 1949 and now lives in New Zealand with his wife Gill.
This year witnessed the introduction of an award to the most senior Old Vigornian present at the dinner, named after William Chappel who was Headmaster from 1896 to 1919.
The award was presented to Trevor Wilson, at King's from 1938 to 1942.
He and his wife Helen are very supportive of the school, travelling from their home in Edinburgh to attend reunions.
Tim Keyes, the current headmaster, was pleased to welcome Mr Chappel's granddaughter, Rosemary Kelly, and great grandson, Martin Kelly, as his guests.
