A car boot sale at the centre of controversy over parking chaos has been relocated elsewhere in the city.

Customers visiting the Sunday event on land in Broomhall Way, St Peter's, caused mayhem by parking illegally on the clearway, causing tailbacks from the motorway and Powick.

Last month, Worcester city councillor Roger Knight warned that after three collisions at the site, a major accident was inevitable.

At this week's St Peter's Parish Council meeting, parish beat manager Andy Hall said the event had been moved to a farm in Kempsey.

He said the organisers had co-operated with the council by putting police cones out to prevent people parking, but the Derby family would now hold the event elsewhere until the end of the year.
