A COACH party attended the ordination of Anne Lanyon-Hogg last Saturday at Hereford Cathedral. Anne, who is curate at St James the Great Church, Colwall, was one of six people to be ordained by the Bishop of Hereford, assisted by the Bishop of Ludlow. Anne will be celebrating her first Eucharist on Friday, October 7, at 6.30pm at St James'. This will be followed by the harvest supper at the village hall. Tickets for the supper are available from Pauline Veale, Rickstones, Walwyn Road.
This morning (Friday), the Macmillan Cancer Relief's World's Biggest Coffee Morning takes place at Chevenham, Walwyn Road, Colwall. This is hosted by the Colwall and Ledbury support group and runs from 10am to noon.
Tomorrow (Saturday), there is a quiz night at Colwall Royal British Legion in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice, £5 per team of four. Please book by telephoning 540944.
The Percy Picton memorial lecture takes place at the village hall on Monday, October 3. The speaker is Charles Chesshire, whose subject is The Story of the Japanese Tea Garden.
The annual general meeting of the bird survey group will take place at the village hall on Thursday, October 6, starting at 7.30pm.
