Tomorrow (Saturday), a coffee morning and sale is in Powick Parish Hall from 10am-noon. Bargains, cakes, crafts etc for Christmas presents. Proceeds to the Worcestershire Animal Shelter (Deblins Green).
Harvest festival at St James' Church, Callow End, takes place at 9.30am this Sunday, including Junior Church.
Powick Badminton Club has now re-commenced after the summer break. New members are welcome to join in on Wednesdays from 8-10pm (approx) at the cost of £2.50 per session. Now keep-fit with Lyn has ended, why not try keeping fit at badminton? For details ring John Peters on (01905) 830594.
Powick Parish Ramblers offer the chance for walks around the parish. The first in October is on Monday, October 17, from Powick old bridge, a five-mile walk via Upper Wick. Details from David Allen (01905) 831988.
The Worcester and Malvern branch of the RSPB meets at Powick Parish Hall on the second Wednesday in the month (no badminton that week) at 7.30pm. Different speakers and illustrated talks, plus raffle and coffee each month. Entry £1, children free. Wild bird seed also on sale. The next meeting is October 12.
Harvest service at St Peter's Church, Powick, is on Sunday, October 9, at 11am. Junior Church music group will also perform. In the evening, the Three Nuns is holding a harvest auction for Air Ambulance from 8.15pm. Any produce or other items will be welcome. For more details, ring Paul Baker, landlord, on (01905) 830442. A fun-day held in the grounds of the Three Nuns on August Bank Holiday raised £420 for the Air Ambulance.
The next book fair will be held on Sunday, October 9, at Powick Parish Hall from 10am-4pm. Entry is free, but refreshments are on sale, alongside some excellent books.
