MALVERN TOWN LADIES 14, PERSHORE TOWN LADIES 0
MALVERN Town Ladies played host to Pershore Ladies at the Langland Stadium on Sunday.
After an indifferent start to the season, Malvern were keen to put in a good performance against a new team in the Kidderminster League.
The game started off as planned with a quick break in the first minute which saw Malvern's Polly Bounds slot the ball home.
Malvern's lead was doubled after three minutes when Bounds scored her second of the game. After some good work from Malvern's midfield the ball was once again in the back of Pershore's net with the first goal of the day from Emily Prosser.
In the 13th minute the referee pointed to the spot for a hand-ball by one of Pershore's defenders in the penalty area. Prosser coolly stepped up and slotted the ball home for Malvern's fourth.
Malvern continued to press and were rewarded after some good overlapping play from Malvern's full backs won them a corner, which was headed home by Prosser for her hat-trick.
The game was very much in Malvern's hands and some good defending by Jenny Griffiths and Heidi Barlow contributed to the half-time lead of 9-0 with goals coming from Polly Bounds to take her to her hat-trick, a penalty from Ella Buckle and two more from Emily Prosser.
Malvern came out after half-time looking to continue their scoring an in the 50th minute Emily Prosser scored her sixth of the game after latching onto a perfect through ball from Tracey Evans.
In the 60th minute, Bounds again had the ball in the back of the net with an excellent curved shot into the top left-hand corner.
Malvern then made a few substitutions but goals kept coming with a great strike from Bounds, for her fifth of the day.
Pershore then managed to take hold of the game and had a few attacks but Jenny Shail in the Malvern goal was more than up to the task.
Malvern's captain Tracey Evans went on a surging run from outside the penalty area and fired the ball home to make it 14-0.
Malvern travel to Hereford on Sunday to face league rivals Phoenix, which promises to be a tougher challenge.
