NEW leaders have emerged in thesoccersite.co.uk Malvern Football League following the fourth weekend of games.

Taking full advantage of Cross Keys being without a fixture, Morgan Aero 8 surged to the top, a feat which was helped by Oak All Stars' major slip-up at home to Dynamo Ledbury.

Morgan went to Ledbury Rangers and showed why they are a force to be reckoned with this season. It took only 15 minutes for Dave Lawrence to put them ahead and just before half-time, Matt Ilsley consolidated their position.

In the second-half, Morgan found scoring difficult, but a goal from Phil Leah mid-way through the half sent them back over the hill with three points and as new league leaders.

At Ross Road, Oak Allstars entertained near neighbours Dynamo Ledbury and must have harboured ambitions of going to the top. This was to prove not to be the case as the visitors bounced back from their disappointing loss last week to take all three points with an excellent display as they came out on top 3-2.

Dynamo took the lead in the fifth minute when Nathan Dixon burst through the home defence to slot home. It became 2-0 when new signing Mark Davis held the ball up well on the edge of the Oak penalty area before passing to Mitch Preedy and from just outside the box he crashed his shot home. In an end-to-end game the Oak Allstars pulled a goal back after 35 minutes when Lee Clueit scored with a powerful header. With both teams playing excellent football and no quarter being given with the tackles the next goal appeared crucial as Oak pushed forward looking for the equaliser and it came when James Dean beat the offside trap to fire home the equaliser. Rather than dropping their heads after losing a two-goal lead Dynamo battled away and regained the lead in the 72nd minute when Nathan Dixon played a good one-two with Martin Punt before racing almost the whole length of the pitch to slot the ball home.

The result meant that Oak Allstars dropped to fifth in the table, which is their lowest position for several years, whilst Dynamo went up to third in the league.

Elsewhere, other teams carrying the Oak name also found the going hard. Misfits found Bell Inn 98 too much to cope with and suffered a 19-0 defeat. Jim Joyce and Chris Grubb both found the net five times, Dan Herbert and Jim Beaumont scored hat-tricks and there were two for Peter Brown and one for Ashley James.

Oak Academy gave Fromes Hill Reserves a keen contest during the first half and the teams went into the break with the scores level at 0-0. However, Fromes Hill found the way to goal in the second half. Matt Porter headed them into the lead, and two minutes later Jon Gittings scored with a 20-yard ground shot. A headed goal by Martin Davies from a Jon Gittings' corner gave Fromes Hill a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Fromes Hill were in action at Talbot Head but the outcome was a little different. Talbot took command of the first half and had built up a 3-0 lead by half-time. Adam Webb put them ahead and Danny Briscoe increased the lead when he converted a cross from Dave Schooling on the right. Tom Hofton then scored a spectacular solo effort, cutting in from the right to score Talbot's third.

After the interval, Talbot took their foot off the pedal and allowed Fromes Hill back into the game. Sean Taylor scored a lone goal for them but it was Tom Hofton who again featured in Talbot's fourth and decisive goal. He was upended in the area and scored the spot-kick himself for his side to run out 4-1 winners.

It was County Cup day for some teams and Keyz 04 were in action in Kidderminster at Broadwaters Inn. However, they did not take any form with them and despite a gritty performance, were defeated 2-1. Ryan Mears got on the scoresheet for Keyz when his corner kick was helped into the net by a defender.

It was a different story for Belmont Keys who covered themselves in glory. Taking on Lickey End Social from Bromsgrove, they fell behind early on but managed to draw level before half time, Dave Perera finding the net.

The second half was tight but a goal 20 minutes from time, scored by Matt Doveton, saw the Malvern League side through into the next round.
