YOUNG bookworms have successfully completed a summer reading challenge at Upton Library.
Twenty-nine children, aged four to 12, read six books of their own choice to complete the scheme.
In keeping with the 'reading voyage' theme of this year's event, the children tracked their progress by moving a galleon along a chart as they finished each book.
Librarian Jenny Reynolds said the scheme had been very successful, with many parents saying it had helped considerably with their children's reading.
The children were rewarded with certificates, presented by town mayor John Thompson at the library on Saturday, September 24.
Activities continue at the library with an autumn competition, where children can enter a piece of writing, a poem or an autumn picture.
