After reading your front page article in last Friday's Malvern Gazette regarding the successful application of Lidl, I thought I would express my joy this matter has finally been put to rest.
I presently have to travel into Worcester to visit Lidl each week due to there being no closer store. I understand Malvern has an abundance of supermarkets, however anyone who has visited a Lidl will tell you the products there are different to what other stores can offer.
As your readers are probably aware, Lidl is a German-owned company with a lot of the products of German and mainland European origin. I have yet to find a present Malvern-based supermarket which can offer products such as the Bratwurst sausages, German pastries or German beer at the quality and price which Lidl can.
I look forward to the opening and although sympathise, can assure local residents they need not worry about me adding to traffic chaos, in fact I for one will no longer have to travel to Worcester and so will leave the car off the road as I live very close and so will walk.
Chris Francis, Dryden Close, Malvern.
