The picture gives a view of the Malvern Hills from the north-west, which displays their contour and elevation to great advan-tage. The drawing, by H Smith, 1819, is about two feet by three feet, and is handsomely framed. It is to be hung in the reference room. Malvern Gazette, September 29, 1905.
Judging from the evidence given in Ledbury Police Cour, by Mr Carnock the landlord of the New Inn Hotel, he must have had a lively time with hopper Henry Smith. On midday, on Thursday, the hopper was only, with some difficulty, overcome and locked up. The prisoner was a strong, burly fellow, of respectable appearance, and standing six feet high. He said: "Gentlemen, I am sorry to be in this position. I must have been very drunk. I had been teetotal for two months, until yesterday, when I came into Ledbury." Ledbury Free Press, October 3, 1905.
