THE results of the first Tenbury in Bloom floral competition were recently announced at a presentation evening at the Pump Rooms.
Janice Gluyas, chairman of Tenbury in Bloom, said: "We regarded this, our first year, as a learning curve with a chance to find our feet.
"We can take heart as we were awarded a £625 grant from Malvern Hills District Council which will help kick-start the preparation for the 2006 Heart of England in Bloom competition."
The town will know how it fared in this year's Heart of England competition when the results are announced at the award ceremony in Trentham Gardens, Stoke-on-Trent tomorrow (Friday).
An open evening will be held in October for volunteers to come forward to help with next year's competition.
The winners of the local competition were: Dan Taylor Best Private Garden Cup; Jane Hayes Chamber of Trade Cup; and Sadie Chalkley Communal and Neighbourhood Cup.
