PROBUS CLUB: Among recent speakers have been member Ken Fossey on humour, illustrated by (for example) recordings of Stanley Holloway, Tony Hancock and Ronnie Barker. Guest Terry Plant, with an account of life and work on board an off-shore oil rig, also covereed the causes of the Piper Alpha Oil Rig disaster.
Member Michael Johnnes took members on his single-handed sailing voyage covering the Algarve, Madeira and the Azores. Another guest Neil Fairbairn talked of his life as the sixth generation shepherd of his family.
