RACHEL Ward celebrated her first run for Amazing Feet by taking the F45 title at the Brambles 10k road race in 43 minutes 52 seconds, to finish 45th overall out of 198 runners.

Second places were achieved by: David Whymant M55, (16th overall) in 40-19; John Amos M50, (25), 41-14; Colin Lucas M60, (129), 52-37; Lindsay Pulley M65, (138), 54-36; Bernadette Byrne F55, (159), 53-37. Finishing as second male team were: Whymant, Shaw Pye, (11), 39-26; Craig Lewis, (12), 39.47; Martin Howles (14), 40-3.

This was the 11th race in the club's annual race league. Amos still leads from C Lewis and D Pye, while in the ladies league, S Lewis has taken over the lead from Sarah Armstrong, with Carse still in third.

The Brambles run was also the Worcestershire County 10k championships, and several club runners achieved county medals.

Whymant collected the gold for his M50 success, Amos silver in the came category, Carse took silver as second female, with Sanders bronze, S Lewis (F35) bronze, while C Lewis, Howles and Whymant took silver for the men's team competition.

Away from league races, Armstrong recorded 42-15 at the Swansea Bay 10k to finish 247th out of 2,478 runners, coming fifth F35. In the 3k race juniors Rosie Armstrong came 170th in 18-04 and Juliet Armstrong was 172nd in 18-13.

l Omitted from the list of results last week was Richard Baker, who completed his 18th consecutive Great North Run in 2-1-33 for 9,769th position.
