STEAM rail enthusiasts will be able to learn more about their hobby though a series of lectures at Evesham College.
Tutor David Morgan will be looking at the dawn of the steam age and asking if it is now dead, steam railways in the 1950s and 60s, what it was like working with steam through the reminiscences of a former employee and steam revival.
There has been a great interest in steam revival, which is also covered on the course, in recent years.
The six week course starts on October 6 and costs £40. To enrol call 01386 712601.
Meanwhile model railway fans will be able to see the very best of vintage machinery at an exhibition held in Evesham.
The event held at St Mary's School is the sixth model railway exhibition to take place and more exhibitors are attending to display their prized possessions to visitors.
Visitors can see models of trains, railways and other machinery along with 12 new layouts of scenes and craft stalls. The exhibition held on Saturday, October 1 will also have an exhibition from an ex-pupil from St Mary's School.
James Tolkin from the school will exhibit his layout, a snow scene for the first time.
The 14-year-old pupil's interest in model railways stemmed from attending this exhibition a couple of years ago.
The event will takes place from 10am until 5pm at St Mary's School, situated behind St Mary's church off the main Evesham High Street costing adults £2.50 and children and senior citizens £1.50.
