A PROPOSAL to extend the alcohol restriction zone in Bewdley will be considered at a meeting of Wyre Forest District Council's cabinet tonight.
The zone - a public area covering much of the town centre and riverside, where anti-social drinking is restricted - was introduced in July, 2003.
An extension has been proposed to include all district council land owned in Northwood Lane.
Two other areas are also proposed - the Shaw Hedge Road play area zone, which includes Wribbenhall First School, the community centre and the Millennium Green, and the Bark Hill play area zone.
A public consultation process for the new areas was undertaken by a working group of Bewdley ward and town councillors and police representatives.
The cabinet is being recommended to approve the extensions, which would become effective on January 1, next year.
