YOUR headline of Monday, September 19, regarding Christopher Whitehead's headteacher banning charity wristbands has prompted me to write.
I have been a regular customer at Leo's supermarket in St John's for many years now. Just lately, it seems common practice of the store to allow at times two collectors to stand at both entrances. I know all the charities concerned are worthy causes but I do feel the number of collections should be limited.
I resent being approached as soon as I enter Leo's by someone holding a tin and requesting money.
I would be interested to know if the management of the supermarket has any ruling on collections allowed on the premises - or is their attitude that customers can always refuse. Perhaps they should follow Chrissie's headteacher and ban a few!
