VOLUNTEERS from the Pershore in Bloom are holding their first event following their success of a Bronze award in the 2005 Britain in Bloom.
A winter hanging basket workshop is to be held this Saturday, at the Pershore Football Club at St George's Way between 10am and noon.
Everyone is invited, from people with no plant or garden experience through to the very experienced. There will be a demonstration from Four Acres Nurseries on the various methods and techniques with tips on maintenance and watering. There will be a range of winter plants and materials including empty baskets, to purchase and fill on the day with help from staff of Four Acres. Alternatively you can bring your own basket to refill.
Jill Liley, Project manager for Pershore in Bloom is delighted to welcome residents of the town and surrounding villages to the event. "There are no restrictions - everyone is welcome. We want the whole town to get involved in the bloom scheme for 2006 and this is a great way for people to come along and learn new skills, or simply prepare their winter baskets at very reasonable prices, " said Ms Liley.
Costs for the workshop and complete refill of a basket start from £12. All participants will receive free entry into the Outdoor Winter Hanging Basket competition. For more information contact Jill Liley 01386 552612 or Jill Bischert on 01386 550200.
