AN internationally acclaimed pianist will perform two of Beethoven's most popular sonatas at Bewdley Festival.

Mark Bebbington, who has been described as one of the leading pianists of his generation, will be playing at the Ramada Hotel on Sunday, October 9 at 2.30pm.

Born in Coventry, Mark studied at the Royal College of music with Phyliss Sellick and Kendall Taylor and later in Italy with pianist Aldo Ciccolini.

He has been praised for his recordings and radio and television work, as well as his solo recitals.

Mark has appeared with orchestras including London Philharmonic, the English Symphony Orchestra and the London Concert Orchestra and toured Europe, Africa and Asia.

The pianist has worked with many leading conductors, including Sir Georg Solti, Marco Zambelli, William Boughton, Norman del Mar and Grant Llewellyn.

At the festival, Mark will perform Beethoven's Pathetique and Appassionata as well as the Liszt Sonata in B minor.

A free shuttle bus will operate for the concert from Bewdley Museum to the Ramada Hotel from 1.45pm.
