A MODEL of HMS Victory will be making its way around Wyre Forest to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.
Members of Kidderminster and District Lions Club will be pushing the ship along pavements from Bewdley to Stourport via Kidderminster on Saturday, October 22.
It is one of several events taking place throughout the country to mark the anniversary of Admiral Lord Nelson's famous victory, which took place on October 21, 1805
Lions member, Tony Rhoden, said: "Nationally, the Lions are trying to organise events to do with Trafalgar so we thought we would try and do the same."
The club, which has 80 members, will be collecting money for its charities along the route and in the town centres.
Mr Rhoden said members have invited other groups to make their own models to take part in the event.
He added: "Hopefully, we should get a few people entering who will be collecting for their charities or the Lions charities. If anyone wants to find out more about it, they can get in touch."
To sponsor the marathon push or enter a team, contact Mr Rhoden on 01299 403800 or Lions president, Jeff Pardoe, on 01562 752373.
