Welland 1, Littleton 7
LITTLETON advanced into the next round of the Worcestershire Junior Cup after Saturday's convincing win on the road.
As the score suggests, this was a comfortable victory and the pattern was set in the first ten minutes when Littleton went close on two occasions.
Simon Brain fired wide after a kind bounce put him in the clear, then a Nathan Hawley pull back was put just over by Matt Cotton.
The first goal came on 11 minutes when Tom Wil-mot's free-kick was sidefooted in by Phil Haines.
The pressure continued and, after several near misses, the visitors scored again. A long free-kick from Adam Steventon was flicked on by Steve Brown to Ben Green-wood whose powerful shot gave the keeper no chance.
On the stroke of half-time, Haines converted again from ten yards and it was a similar tale after the restart as Cotton made it 4-0 on 51 minutes when he powerfully headed in Wilmot's flag-kick.
Welland got a consolation goal on the hour following a defensive mix-up but a slick move eight minutes later saw Littleton increase their lead when Wilmot headed in after Greenwood and Matty Staley had combined.
A drive from Hawley into the top corner made it six before Staley completed the rout when he latched on to a pass from fellow striker Joe Wright.
Littleton are at home Saturday to Kenilworth on Saturday, ko 2.45pm.
