STUDLEY manager Kevin Rowlands publicly blasted his players for their performance in Saturday's 4-0 defeat at home to Stourbridge.

"The nil we got flattered us and the four goals Stourbridge got were an injustice to them," said a fuming Rowlands. "Seven, eight or nine goals would not have done justice to Stourbridge's superiority.

"Saturday was embarrassing, it was a total public embarrassment by them all.

"It was a shocking performance and not a single positive came out of it. No player came out of it with any credit.

"They've publicly embarrassed themselves, myself and everyone at the club and I've let them know that.

"The schoolboy basics of football weren't there. We were caught sloppy for their first goal, gave them the second, contributed to the third and gave them the fourth. I'm still shell-shocked by the performance."

The Bees boss hauled in the players for extra training on Monday and said he is hoping for a response for the visit of newly-promoted Tipton Town on Saturday (ko 3pm).

"It's all about our reaction on Saturday," he said, "if the players are hurting as much as me and the backroom staff there will be a reaction to it.

"If the players don't respond then it will be time for me to take positive action."

Rowlands will again have fit-again striker Andy Johnson available after ending the forward's loan spell at Feckenham but fellow striker Lee Ross, who scored in last week's 1-1 draw at Chasetown, is unavailable.

Midfielder Adam Blake is back from suspension and winger Mark Neath, ruled out by ankle ligament damage since the first match of the season, could figure.
