BROMSGROVE RFC director of rugby Dean Ball believes it is too early to panic about his side's poor start to the season in the Midlands Division One.
The Boars have yet to earn a point in the league and have suffered heavy defeats in their last three games in all competitions.
However, Ball recalls that Bromsgrove lost two of their first three league matches last season and improved to seal a mid-table place.
He said: "It does look bad at the moment, but we were in a similar situation last season."
Ball will be hoping that Bromsgrove ended their losing run against Luton at Finstall Park on Saturday, October 1 (3pm start).
He said: "If we win our record will be two defeats and one win, which is a lot better than three losses.
"It's a big game. Winning it will have a big impact on our entire season."
However, Bromsgrove go into Saturday's vital clash against newly promoted Luton with several injury problems.
Ali Hall and Andy Ford are both set to miss the match because of work commitments.
Tom Churchill may also miss the match because of injury and Ball will assess his fitness at training tomorrow night (Thursday).
Ball admits that a radically different side from the one that secured safety last season is taking time to gel.
The coach is trying to mould new additions such as Craig Walker and Matt Halstead and bring through new players. Bromsgrove have lost first team regulars James Lloyd-Jones and Matt Birch and have players such as Dave Clarke and Steve Phillips, who are nearing the end of their playing days.
Ball said: "The team is in a transitional stage at the moment.
"I am trying to build not just for this season but for the next few by bringing through the younger players.
"It would be an easy option to stick with the players who have a lot of experience, but it is about trying to find the right balance.
"We have to start getting results otherwise we will be in a lot of trouble."
Ball also took stock of Saturday's 48-12 defeat to Dudley Kingswinford.
He said: "That defeat was no surprise, although I felt we made too many mistakes and gave them some points.
"That was always going to be a very difficult match, as Dudley have experienced a higher level."
