AS a local professional orchestra based in Alvechurch, we took a
decision to try and encourage a larger audience to enjoy fine live
classical music by booking the new Artrix in Bromsgrove.
Needless to say, with the teething troubles experienced since the initial opening of this multi-million pound centre there was an element of trust involved when budgeting for the substantial costs required.
Their recent re-launch was very well attended and can be deemed a great success as can our concert last Saturday.
May I offer the sincere thanks of The Midland Sinfonia to Bev Southall, marketing manager; Fran, duty manager; Chris on the technical side and the team of volunteers who contributed so much to such a delightful evening.
The centre may still be short of funds and need a final effort (from those holding the purse strings) in ironing out any wrinkles, but the dedication of the Artrix staff involved far out-weigh the few remaining niggles that a hasty opening produced.
They are a real asset to what is Bromsgrove's jewel.
I would heartily recommend we all offer our support for this new venue.
