IT'S been a busy weekend for members - some of whom were in action on both Saturday and Sunday.
Workman Gardens was the venue for the annual River Championship Shield match but a chilly and misty morning made life difficult for the competitors.
Clive Leeming topped the final standings with a mixed bag weighing in at 4.2.0 to see off the challenge of Wooffs sponsored junior Gavin Griffiths whose bag of gudgeon came in at 2.3.0.
Club Chairman Hugh Blundstone was third with 1.8.0, while Ray Woods (0.13.0) was fourth.
The winner narrowly failed to record a notable double the next day when he was pipped for top spot in the second Fiesta Cakes Winter League match on the Middle Pool at Manor Farm Leisure.
Wayne Panting it was who took first place with 59.5.0 to beat Leeming's bag of 56.0.0. Steve Hilton was a close third with 55.10.0 with Roy Thomson fourth with 44.15.0.
The next match is on Sunday at Pinvin Forest Farm, with the draw at the usual time of 8am and fishing for five hours from 9.

A CATCH of roach on bread flake helped Graham Mytton to an easy win in the Avon Shield match at Bidford.
Sport was poor on a low and clear Avon but the winner just had enough in hand to overcome closest rival Terry Atkinson.
There's an Open match at The Fishery on Saturday for five hours after the draw at 9am. £10 all-in reserve your spot by ringing 01386 41273.
The next day it's the Evesham Association Championships and members wishing to take part are asked to contact local tackle shops for details.
Avon Shield: 1 G Mytton 4.15.8; 2 T Atkinson 1.12.8. Section A: Duncan Edgley 1.12.0. Section B: Phil Seedhouse 1.12.0.
