ALTHOUGH Salwarpe WI did not have a normal meeting during August we were still very busy.
A coach load of our members went out on a Mystery Tour organised by our secretary and visited Ludlow for lunch and then went on to the village of Neen Savage for a WI tea, which was delicious.
While at Neen Savage we visited the local church, which has a very interesting history. It has a particularly beautiful carved screen, which had to be rescued from a fire in Victorian times.
Our other big event was to supply afternoon teas for the Salwarpe village fete. We were extremely busy serving over 500 drinks and 45 cakes and were pleased to raise £685.50.
