HUNDREDS of people across Bromsgrove will be stirring themselves into action for this year's Macmillan Cancer Relief World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

The event takes place this Friday and schools, residential homes and other organisations across Bromsgrove will be taking part to raise money for cancer relief.

Millfields First School, in Swift Close, will be holding an event for the fifth year running. They are expecting around 250 people to take part, and parents will be on hand to sell biscuits to the children.

Holywell Primary and Nursery School, in School Road, Rubery, is inviting visitors to drop in from 9am onwards.

Visitors will be asked to make a donation for every cup of coffee they drink.

Children at Jellybabies Nursery will be given 50p to develop their independence, as the nursery holds a coffee morning at the Coffee Pot, at Longbridge Methodist Church.

Parents and children are invited to attend from 9am to 12pm.

Sixth formers from South Bromsgrove High School, in Charford Road, have also organised an event at the Avoncroft Museum.

Other organisations holding coffee mornings locally include Finstall First School in Carnforth Road; School House Day Nursery in Priory Road, Dodford; the Parishes of Cofton Hackett and Barnt Green, in Gleneagles Drive, Blackwell; Brook Court Residential Home on Burcot Lane, Bromsgrove; The Bromsgrove Hotel in Kidderminster Road, and the Uplands Education Unit, at Greenhill, Blackwell.
