POLICE are investigating after a number of sheep were found dead and injured on Hagley Hall estate near Bromsgrove.

Five animals were discovered dead on farm land at the estate last Wednesday afternoon. Two had neck wounds and three had drowned in a nearby pool. Four others had suffered neck wounds, but were still alive.

PC Jason Hynes, who is based at Hagley police station, said: "This is a very disturbing incident and we are appealing for anyone with information to help our inquiries to get in touch.

"We know that a large brown German shepherd cross dog was seen in the area on Wednesday afternoon and we would urge the owner of this dog to come forward.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or saw or heard anything that will assist us with our investigation." Anyone with information can contact officers at Hagley on 08457 444 888.
