THE hunt is on for young musicians across Worcest-ershire to take part in a talent competition.
It is the seventh year Worcestershire Arts Educ-ation has organised the Young Musicians' Chall-enge, in partnership with BBC Hereford and Worc-ester. The event, open to youngsters between the ages of eight and 18 years from both LEA and independent schools, will be held at Huntingdon Hall at 7pm on Thursday, November 24.
Soloists and ensembles will be taking part in the competition, with the Nomura Award - a prize of £250 and a lesson with a leading performer and teacher - given to the solo winner. Winners of the ensemble category will be awarded £250 for their school's music department.
BBC Hereford and Worc-ester will be recording the event for broadcast at a later date.
Young musicians interested in entering should ask their school music teacher for details. The closing date for entries is Monday, October 17. Tickets can be bought from the box office at Huntingdon Hall.
