ANDY Gomarsall has hit back at claims that he has not been 100 per cent committed to Gloucester.
The scrum-half, who looks set to complete his Sixways move this week, has been stunned by accusations that his form has gone off the boil after Kingsholm contract negotiations broke down.
"It's very sad that it's come to this and it's affected me very badly," said Gomarsall. "To be accused of not giving 100 per cent by your coaches is awful. I have never once not given 100 per cent for Gloucester.
"I didn't want to leave Gloucester, but once the contract negotiations started to drag on I had to think about my future.
"My commitment has never wavered and while some of the fans might think that it has, none of the players do.
"They take to the field with me and I always play to the best of my ability for the team. To play with the past and current players of Gloucester has been an honour and a pleasure.
"I might not have played in recent weeks with a smile on my face, which is when I'm at my best. It was only last season that I was playing two games in two days and I played at Newcastle with bronchitis, so some people have very short memories."
