JOHN Brain questioned Worcester's attitude after their 18-10 defeat at the Rec.
The Sixways director of rugby believed his side lacked the correct mentality as they put in one of their worst performances of the season against a Bath team missing 18 players.
"There are a lot of positive things being said and written about the team at present," he said.
"I think we came here, with Bath missing some players, expecting to win and without thinking that we had to work hard. Our discipline was very, very poor in the first-half and the penalty count, at one stage, was 8-1.
"It's a wake-up call for us and it's disappointing because this was a big opportunity missed."
Victory would have almost sealed Worcester's Premiership status next season but instead, Brain's boys will now have to bounce back against Saracens a week on Saturday.
"We missed a chance here but I don't think we deserved anything out of the game the way we played.
"We didn't play well and have come away with nothing. I don't think we can have any complaints. At 10-6 up, we didn't really deserve to be winning and at 12-10 down, we were hanging on for the bonus point.
"I don't think Bath would have argued if we'd have got a point but our discipline let us down again right at the end. We gave away a silly penalty and they converted so that was that.
"That adds to the sense of frustration because we would have gone above London Irish just with a point. Our discipline, from the forwards in particular, in the first-half was poor and I don't have any problems at all with the referee.
"We thought four points were here for the taking and a win would have been a massive boost for us. We've missed that opportunity and that means that there's added pressure for the next game.
"The Premiership is a tough environment and we turned up here with the wrong attitude. They were missing some players but you've still got to work extremely hard to win at this level. There's no doubt, this is a wake-up call.
"What we have to do is put that right against Saracens in our next game."
