JOHN Brain believes Ben Hinshelwood's Scotland cold shoulder will inspire him at the Rec today.
The Sixways director of rugby was surprised to see his club captain omitted from Scotland's 22 to face Wales tomorrow but is in no doubt that it is Worcester's gain.
The Warriors travel to Bath after a hat-trick of Premiership wins during a fabulous February. Now, they aim to make it four on the trot with Hinshelwood spearheading that bid.
"I'm sure his frustration will work in our favour," said Brain. "Ben's a player who likes going to places such as Kingsholm and the Rec.
"He wants that sort of stage. He likes big matches and playing in those types of games. That's what rugby players are all about."
Brain cannot understand why Scotland coach Matt Williams has sent Hinshelwood home after an impressive Autumn international series.
"It's a mystery to me," he said. "If you look at the players that they've got in their back line, particularly in the centre, I think it's strange that Ben hasn't made a Six Nations start."
