WORCESTER will not be entering the bidding war for Mike Tindall.
The England centre, who is being touted around various Premiership clubs with his Bath deal set to expire in May, will not be arriving at Sixways next season.
Gloucester, Leeds, Northampton, Newcastle and Saracens have been linked with a bid for the World Cup winner but Worcester's head coach Andy Keast revealed that he won't be joining the queue.
"You just have to look at the amount of games he plays for Bath," said Keast. "We're not interested because he's not the type of player that is going to take us forward."
Keast and his Worcester side are concentrating on Friday's European Shield quarter-final second leg tie with Leonessa at the Campo Comunale di Rovato in Brescia. The Warriors take a 32-6 advantage into the game following Friday's victory at Sixways but Worcester look likely to be without lock Tim Collier who suffered a pectoral injury yesterday in training.
Keast had hoped to recall players who missed Friday's game in order to top up their game-time. However, with Collier struggling and Thomas Lombard (shoulder) and Dale Rasmussen (ribs) both still touch and go, the management may err on the side of caution with the competition low on their priority list.
"We will have to see with the players," said Keast. "We're not going to take any chances but we also want to give people game-time because we don't have a match next weekend.
"Tim didn't look very good yesterday and that's a pity because we had hoped to involve him."
One player who looks certain to play is Uche Oduoza. The winger, who was pencilled in for the first leg, couldn't make the match because he didn't return from his Nigerian Christmas holiday in time.
"He'll play in the game in what will be his first away match for Worcester," said Keast. "It will be a good experience for him and it will help him to get to know the lads a bit better.
"It's a difficult competition for the players to create their own intensity. We didn't get out of first gear in the first leg and yet we still won at a canter.
"We've got Gloucester coming up in the Premiership, though, so we have to try and create our own intensity."
