ANDY Keast has turned up the heat on fly-half Tommy Hayes.
The number ten takes his place in Worcester Warriors' side to tackle Leicester Tigers at Sixways on Saturday (12.30pm) knowing that the pressure is on after a "nightmare" at London Irish.
He had an off day at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday in his first start for a month following minor knee surgery.
With James Brown soon to return following a neck problem, head coach Keast is warning his half-backs that they have to perform. Clive Stuart-Smith gets his first Zurich Premiership start at nine with Matt Powell losing his place as Keast looks for more control from his play-makers.
"Our decision making at half-back and our execution of where we played the game was poor," said Keast.
"The performance at London Irish was not directed by our half-backs. Tommy Hayes has been fortunate to get another start because of the unavailability of James Brown.
"Clive Stuart-Smith is fit and he's now got the opportunity to take the scrum-half spot with both hands.
"There's no point in hiding from the fact that our control from half-back at London Irish was not very good. Tommy had a nightmare at the Madejski."
Worcester have two new wide men for the Leicester clash with Daren O'Leary replacing Giscard Pieters and Ben Gollings coming in for absentee Ben Hinshelwood.
The Scotland centre is on international duty so Gollings -- who impressed in an 'A' team match on Monday night -- gets the nod.
"We wanted another kicking option and Ben did very well for us on Monday," added Keast.
Worcester have named Craig Gillies in the side but will monitor the lock's fitness after he missed the 25-15 defeat to the Exiles with a back injury.
Hooker Ben Daly is also recalled with the misfiring Andre Van Niekerk on the bench. Alongside him is new wing signing Paul Sampson, while Duncan Roke is also included in the 22.
Worcester: Delport; O'Leary, Rasmussen, Trueman, Gollings; Hayes, Powell; Windo, Daly, Horsman, Collier, Gillies, Greeff, Sanderson, Hickey. Replacements: Lyman, Van Niekerk, Murphy, Gabey, Powell, Roke, Sampson.
