WORCESTER Warriors will run the rule over former England wing Paul Sampson tonight at Sixways.
The ex-Wasps and Bath ace, who won three caps for his country, is named in Worcester's 'A' side as they take on Sale (7.30pm).
Sampson -- who scored 27 tries in his Premiership career -- has been playing in the Super League for London Broncos and is part of the England rugby union sevens squad.
He will play the trial match under the watching eye of Worcester's director of rugby John Brain.
"Paul is not contracted at the moment so we will have a look at him tonight," said Brain.
"He's been playing Super League rugby and training with England sevens. It's an opportunity for us to see him play and we'll have a chat afterwards."
Neil Cole is also named in the side, while Duncan Roke plays at full-back. Promising teenager Uche O'Duza will play on the other wing but Neil Lyman has been pulled from the team following Chris Horsman's injury last night.
Horsman left the field at the Madejski Stadium in first-half stoppage time with what looked like a possible fractured cheekbone.
However, an X-ray last night discounted any fracture and the prop could even make Saturday's Premiership crunch clash against Leicester at Sixways.
"It's positive news that Chris hasn't suffered a fracture," added Brain.
"Certainly, we feared he might of last night but the X-ray has given us some good news on the injury front.
"Neil Lyman has been struggling with a neck problem and, because of Chris' injury, we don't think it's prudent to play Neil tonight."
Brain was today viewing yesterday's 25-15 defeat at London Irish and admitted it didn't make good viewing.
"Our line-out just didn't function and that is a key area of our game," said Brain. "It looks like we've caused our own problems because we didn't have a platform and we played in the wrong areas of the field."
Worcester 'A' team to face Sale: Roke; Sampson, Whatling, White, O'Duza; Higgins, Cole; Fortey, Hall, Thomas, Percival, Blaze, Vaili, Rae, Hopley.
