WORCESTER Warriors' opening Premiership clash with Newcastle has sold out.
The September 5 game, Wor-cester's first taste of life in the top flight, has proved a winner with supporters and the club will set a new record when the 8,200 crowd roars the Warriors on against the Falcons.
The game, which will also be screened live by Sky Sports, should feature the return of England World Cup hero Jonny Wilkinson for Newcastle after his injury problems. Worcester have already sold more than 3,000 season tickets while debentures have helped to swell numbers.
Meanwhile, tickets are still available for the supporters' club river cruise on Friday evening. The Sixways supporters have organised the cruise up the River Severn as their 'big event' of the summer and proceeds from a raffle will also go towards prop Neil Lyman's benefit fund. Leinster supporters, in preparation for the friendly clash with Worcester on Saturday, are also set to join the cruise.
