WORCESTER Warriors are ruling out moves for Rotherham's players.
The ailing South Yorkshire outfit are on the brink of going out of business and their players have been scrambling around searching for new employers.
With most Premiership clubs now unable to bring anyone else in because of the salary cap, Rotherham's unfortunate players may find it tough to land a professional club in the near future unless they take significant wage cuts.
Worcester, though, are not in the market for any Titans and, despite terminating the contract of lock Tom Bowman this week, they will not be sniffing around Millmoor for new recruits.
"The only Rotherham players we were interested in were the ones we went for in the summer," said Worcester's director of rugby John Brain.
"Their players have been well aware of the situation at the club for some time now and their agents have been searching for new clubs. We were interested in two of their players and we've got them both in Leon Greef and Brad MacLeod-Henderson.
"We're looking at our options at the moment after the departure of Tom Bowman.
"We are not going to rush into something for the sake of it. We want the right type of player at Worcester. We've always said that."
Meanwhile, rugby pundit Stuart Barnes has backed Worcester's Premiership survival bid.
The former England man has been impressed with the Warriors' recruitment drive during the summer and believes Brain's boys will make a better fist of their campaign than Rotherham's paltry effort last season.
"Worcester can and will do better than Rotherham," he said.
"There are more solid foundations, more experienced coaches at the helm, more significant signings and a good home crowd to lift the team in a way that Rotherham were not inspired.
"They have what it takes to stay up. Their players, several of whom I spoke with at the Middlesex Sevens are confident and, on the balance, so am I."
