MORE than 250 members of the Church of Latter Day Saints will be carrying out a mass litter pick around Malvern tomorrow.
The event is part of the church's Helping Hands programme. The Malvern Hills has a particular importance to the church as in 1840, one of the church's main leaders, Brigham Young and other elders held a missionary council at the top of Herefordshire Beacon.
It was there they decided to publish the Book of Mormon. "The church sees Helping Hands as a way of returning something to the community who welcomed its early missionaries," said spokesman Rob Biggs.
Volunteers should meet at 10am on Peachfield Road, near the Poolbrook Road junction.
