RANGERS opened this West Midlands division one fixture quite strongly and took the lead through captain Neil Bond.
BLACKHEATH TOWN 4, MALVERN RANGERS 2
However, Blackheath Town equalised when a poorly-struck back-pass by Mark Taylor allowed the home side in for an easy score and they took the lead four minutes before half-time from a corner.
Two goals in the second-half meant a real uphill struggle for Rangers and they only grabbed a late consolation goal from Rob Cullen.
The goal scorers against Tenbury the previous Saturday in Rangers' 6-1 win were Rob Cullen, Rob Perrins, Ollie Endacott, Simon Rea, Sam Black and Mike Cole.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Rangers, sponsored by the Cross Keys Inn, entertain Ashbourne Town in the reverse fixture of August 27 when Rangers secured their first league win coming from 3-0 down to score a last-ditch winner. Kick-off 2.45pm, players to meet at the ground 1.30pm.
